The Hounds of Love (Kate Bush Tribute)
The Hounds of Love (Kate Bush Tribute)
Atlanta’s best (and only) Kate Bush tribute, began when Audrey Gamez, our talented and evocative vocalist, reached out to no one in particular, asking “who is gonna write that Kate Bush musical and ask me to star in it?” To which keyboardist Allen Welty-Green (from The Band Who Fell to Earth) replied “be careful what you wish for!” Within short order, they had recruited a team of simpatico musicians, including Bill Sommer (from The New Vintage) on drums, Rob Dwyer (also from The Band Who Fell to Earth) on bass and guitar, and especially the inimitable Marva Rodriquez (from Heartizens) on piano and additional vocals. They began to dive deep into Kate’s repertoire and their set spans her entire career, from her early innocent ballads to her sophisticated art-rock opuses. Translating Kate etherial and sophisticated music into a live setting has been their primary mission. The Hounds make it happen with elegance and theatricality.
Christo and the Birds of Paradise
A collective of battle hardened Atlanta music legends leaning into the exotica loungescape with a heroic dose of psychedelic flavoring. Helmed by the wizardly Christo Case at the organ and flanked by a stalwart cast of jazzy eccentrics, the birds take influence from the velvet sounds of Esquivel and Les Baxter's space age symphonies and add a healthy shot of surf rock sensibilities for a strangely inviting cocktail of modern lounge music.
